So I need help…I need God but I push Him away when I know I need to get close. I’ll pray.
I love your genuine heart and the quick process you seemed to have gone through while writing out your card. You have definitely nailed your big issue it seems. You have pain and hurt and you need God...but you stiff arm Him when He wants to move in to love you. You have one step of the solution. Prayer. Let me encourage you to pray in a couple of ways. First, the way that Jesus told his disciples to pray (Luke 11:2-4). Second, the way Jesus prayed for His greatest hurt (Luke 22:42). God if you can take it and make it go away....YES!...but if not...your will be done! Pray for God's glory to be revealed, it changes you! And it changes the prayer. Also, don't just pray but connect with God through reading his Word. Make the Psalms apart of your daily reading...you will be greatly encouraged! If you want to see the most intimate perspective of Jesus read John. If you need to know about how to arm yourself for your battles...read Ephesians. If you want to know joy...read Philippians. No matter where you read...read! Thirdly...allow others in. Spend time in community with others. Let them love you, and you love them. Let them serve you, and you serve them! You are doing great! Keeping moving forward. You are valuable, and we love you! You are in our prayers!
