I am shy and have very little confidence in myself.  I cling to outgoing people and I feel like I don’t have very many real friends.  I am very lonely.

The teenage years are hard for anyone!  I bet you might be surprised to hear that 100% of the kids I talk with feel the same way as you do.  Does that surprise you?  Everyone your age feels as though they are lonely and do not have a best friend to share life with.  We all feel lonely during different times in our lives, that is normal.    Luckily, God is always there for us to listen.  You may say, “Yah, but I need someone to sit with me, talk, hang, whatever it might be you need in a friend.  Look beyond school and family and reach out to others that may need a friend also.  Serving others is a great way to give our friendship to others. Please remember also that we are here for you.  Do not hesitate to call us if you just need to talk.  As far as being shy, that can be harder to feel comfortable to reach out to others, but give it a try, especially if you see God working.  Be courageous to take that somewhat scary idea and just give it a try.  There is a verse in the New Testament that speaks about the shy, quiet person and is a beautiful illustration of the blessing they are.  Pray my friend and ask God for that special someone.

Matthew 5:5
5 blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

You are valuable, and we love you!  You are in our prayers!
